Servicing Fender Amplifiers This is my Fender amp servicing guide. I developed this service guide after many years of servicing Fender Vintage amplifiers. Many Fenders used the same circuit inside with just a few different parts in the same spot on the board. You don’t need a special service guide for each amp to be able to service a Deluxe Reverb, Super Reverb, Pro reverb or any of the vintage fender amps. Before doing any service work on an amplifier, you must make sure the amplifier is unplugged from the wall and the filter caps are drained. Filter caps can hold a charge that can give you a severe shock. The easiest way to drain your filter caps is to warm up the amp and then play the amp. Do not shut the amp off with the power switch or the standby switch. Just unplug the amp from the wall and keep strumming your guitar until the sound dies away. Once the sound dies down, the voltage in the filter caps will be below a level that can hurt you.

Camper Water Hookup Instructions Recreational vehicles are designed for “boondocking,” or camping without hookups. A fresh water tank, volt battery-operated appliances and holding tanks allow most RV travelers to disconnect from utilities for a few days. Hookups provide increased comfort, including the ability to use unlimited water and run items that draw a great deal of power such as televisions and air conditioners.

Most RV parks provide either partial hookups, which include electricity and water, or full hookups, which add sewer service.

Volt Testing, Amp Testing and Ohm Testing You will most commonly measure two electrical parameters when you’re troubleshooting your appliance: Typically, both of these measurements are made on a single meter called a multi-meter, which you can set to measure either ohms or voltage ac. Figure 1 shows how to measure resistance. Resistance or continuity is measured in units called “ohms.

For example, a good bake element typically has a resistance of about 30 ohms. If your oven’s not baking and you measure the resistance of the bake element and the meter doesn’t move, then you know you have a bad element. Everyone is looking to save money, from coupons to tax deductions, so finding out if a repair is possible before you buy a whole new unit can be a great way to save.

A simple ohm measurement can save a lot of money: Figure 1- How to measure resistance with Ohm Meter Amp meter: Figure 2 shows a clamp-on amp meter or amp meter being used to measure current flow through a wire. This is a common test for determining whether or not a gas oven igniter is good or bad–only way to really know is by measuring its current draw and comparing to rated draw. Tip by E ScottD on Step 14 18 hours ago Upvote 0 A couple of things, that I can see that would help your project would be to install a ground rod on the generator or the box leading to the generator grounding the circuit. It could preclude instances of getting shocked if touching something energized a hotplate and a device already installed in the home the stove, range hood etc..

Adding a ground rod would help. Also don’t run any high end appliances while on generator unless you keep a close eye on the fuel level. When the generator runs out of fuel, it dosen’t just stop, it runs down. While it is doing this it will decrease the amount of voltage to the house. Find an old picture tube type TV if ya have to have a TV. Tip by Philbert D 1 day ago Upvote 0 Great write up. You do not know what is happening ‘upstream’ from you and could introduce power to lines currently being worked on.

I have an almost exact setup to yours with a pair of load meters added and, except for the above mentioned step-order change, virtually identical startup procedures. One thing I discovered during my research on this method was the vague definitions and codes regarding portable generator grounding. Several authoritative sources have said to paraphrase: Technically, in order to be code compliant, it needs to be determined if the neutral and ground are separated at the generator.

The trailer does NOT have an air conditioner. How difficult would it be to convert the electrical system from the 50 amp service to a 30 amp service? I know a 30 amp cable is a lot lighter than a 50 amp cable so I am looking to see if I can save some weight due to not having to carry the heavier cable among other things that are not needed. Richard Davidson September 18, at 6: Be sure your surge protector cannot be just un plugged and taken.

I opted for the permanently installed kind and not the plugin type.

For example, a nominal 20 amp fuse will handle a 30 amp load for about 90 seconds. It will hold a amp load for about 1 second. Just after the fuse element melts, there is a brief short period of time when an arc occurs, after which the fuse opens the circuit completely.

Hooking up a amp vehicle to a amp power pedestal whenever possible will help protect the long-term dependability of appliances in your rig, Finch says. The breakers for the electrical systems in most campgrounds are designed with a tolerance of percent, plus or minus. If breakers tripped at exactly 30 amps, they would cost much more — perhaps 10 times as much — as breakers normally used.

A amp outlet supplies 3, watts 30 amps multiplied by volts. Therefore, the breaker on that outlet could meet code and still trip anywhere between a total load of 2, watts 80 percent of 3, watts and 4, watts percent of 3, watts. That sets up a situation where the breaker on a amp outlet may not trip until the load exceeds 4, watts. For amp service, however, the potential amount of power used — 12, watts, or 50 amps times volts — represents more than three times as much possible demand as amp service.

Conversely, a amp rig hooked up to a amp outlet is only getting about one-third of the power that the rig may need to run a full complement of appliances. The same principle applies to the design of electrical circuits in commercial buildings and campgrounds.

LOADS Amplifiers are designed to power a specific “load”, meaning a speaker or set of speakers having a specific “AC impedance” measured in ohms. Impedance resists the flow of electric current so the higher the speaker impedance the less current the amplifier has to supply. Conversely, the lower the impedance the more current must be supplied.

In other words, a low impedance speaker is a big workload for your amp and a high impedance speaker is a small load. To push more air, several speakers always of equal impedance can be wired together in a cabinet. The cabinet impedance depends on how the speakers are wired and may differ from the impedance of the speakers. Wiring diagrams and their effect on cabinet impedance are displayed below. An amp works best when driving a load with the same impedance as the amplifier’s “output impedance”.

If they don’t match, there could be consequences: If the speaker impedance is higher than the amp’s, the amp might sound weak or dull. If the speaker impedance is lower than the amp’s, the amp might sound fantastic but eventually burn out.

In the previous arrangement, it would be fed through an outside cord input hole and spool up inside the small cabinet area. The kit has pretty decent reviews and Marinco is a brand with lots of products built for boating environments. I figured if it is good enough for boats it should easily stand up to an RVing environment. Another nice feature of the kit is it comes with an assortment of proper mounting hardware and gaskets to make for a smooth install.

In the long run, I would probably end up spending more money anyway.

In the current modern era, information regarding the growth and development of technology is really easy to get.

Toaster Represents actual power consumption as measured on sample products. Click the Calculate button to see the number of hours your configuration should run. Based on fully charged batteries. You can also use these formulas to calculate how long your appliance will operate on your battery. For a 12 Volt System: Deep cycle marine batteries generally have the highest reserve ratings.

They are also capable of withstanding repeated drains of power and recharging. Doing so will shorten the life of the battery based on most battery manufacturers recommendations. If you intend to use power tools for commercial use, or any load of W for more than 1 hour regularly between battery recharging we recommend installing an auxiliary battery to provide power to the inverter. This battery should be a deep cycle type and sized to meet your run time expectations with the engine off.

The auxiliary battery should be connected to the alternator through an isolator module to prevent the inverter from discharging the engine start battery when the engine is off.
