Many who only discovered it well after its original release compare its dulcet introspective tone to Nick Drake ‘s albums. It does fall into a similar English folk vein, though Browne ‘s arrangements are, on the whole, more Baroque, giving the album a semi-classical, regal feel. Browne charted his own classical arrangements and wrote out vocal charts for a choir, but turned to his art school friend David Bretton for song lyrics. It’s Bretton ‘s lovely Pre-Raphaelite-style phrases, used here in the guise of lyrical content, that fans of this album often react strongly to, one way or another. Immediate issued only one single from the album, “On the Bombsite,” but it failed to connect with listeners. At the time of its release, Oldham ‘s Immediate Records was reportedly falling apart. He was in financial ruin and reportedly cut the sessions short to save money. Apart from a hard to find Canadian LP reissue in the mid-’70s on which the original cover art was reproduced in tinted monochrome against a silver background , Give Me Take You was out of print for over 20 years, until when Sony Music Special Products issued a CD edition mastered from three different vinyl sources, owing to a master tape that was missing at the time. It was reissued on CD for the first time in the U.

Optimus Prime , , Japanese ID number: The toy transforms into two major components; the first component being a red and blue White Freightliner WFT T cabover semi-trailer truck partially composed of die-cast metal, and the second component being a large silver trailer of currently-undetermined model. See Ex parte Stalego, USPQ 52, 53 the application file wrapper of a U.S. patent or U.S. application publication may be used as prior art as of the patent or publication date, (provisional or nonprovisional) or granted patent. Among the Fender Japanese guitars, there were two different logos used: Crafted in Japan and Made in Japan, and both were being made at the same time from till I have more info on the MIJ Reissues page. One is that there was a reorganizing of where the parts were being make in the large, expansive Fugi Gen Gakki company.
The island of Matsumoto is where the Fugi plant is located. I was told by a former Fender Rep that the necks were made one place and the bodies another, while the electronics were made in yet another. I was told that the contract with Yamoto stated if any major subcontractor was to be changed the weaning process would have to take place MIJ to CIJ. This freed up a lot of space in the plant. Yamara and Gotoh retooled to handle the woodwork and finish aspects of the guitars—thus the Crafted in Japan line was created.
Regarding quailty, I have owned many of both these Japanese guitars and it is a fallacy that the Made in Japan models are better than the Crafted in Japan or vice versa. As far as I am concerned, the quality of either is much better than the Mexican made guitars and rival many of the USA models. The early series are the most popular for collectors. The Japanese serial number can be confusing too.

What’s the difference and how can you tell? The serial number of your guitar will begin with one of the above lettering sequences. Fender Japan used all of the above lettering sequences for the serial numbering of their guitars and basses over the years, and knowing this first will help you determine the year of manufacture.
These stamps can be found in different locations on your guitar, so now I’ll tell you where you need to look to find these markings There will be 5 numbers also engraved after the “JV” lettering. Fender “JV” guitars were only made from to All Fender JV models had the serial numbers engraved into either the neck plate or bridge. Many also have penciled neck dates you can only see when the neck is removed from the body of the guitar.
These models have the serial numbering and markings in the same location as Fender JV guitars, and were made only during the years to On Stratocasters and bass guitars, you will find the serial number just below this stamp, also on the heel of the neck. On Telecasters and certain other models, you will find the serial number on the bridge.

If you’re not familiar with my site, it’s simple, and you’ll love it or hate it: It’s not a fancy site but it remains unchanged since ’98 and I firmly believe, “if it ain’t broke – don’t fix it. Just click on any underlined text and it should open a picture; if you move your cursor over the pic and there’s a magnifying glass displayed instead of your cursor, click the pic and it will expand it to larger size.

Here is a very early Fender () MIJ FujiGen built ‘52 reissue Telecaster. As is usually the case with these excellent 80’s MIJ Fenders, the fit and finish is the best you will see, it’s a brilliant player & has some nice vintage looks to match.
The Fender numbers tell the story of the company over the years. Unfortunately, the serial number placement is sporadic and many ID numbers over lap between years and models. In many instances, there is no exact known date for a specific guitar. That is why I decided to write this article. I want to help you understand how to tell the age of your Fender as well as any Fender you see. Fender like Gibson has been producing guitars for many years.
Certain styles and colors have come and gone over the years, but there is no real obvious way to tell how old a Fender is other than the identification number. Unfortunately, Fender decided not to simply write the date of manufacture on the guitar. They decided that it would be easier to decipher the serial number code than just write the year on the guitar. I say this only joking. Where do I find my Fender Serial Number?

Using the list in the Playing Card Manufacturers Article on this website, you can narrow down the years a deck was made. If you see a deck was produced by one of these companies, you know it was produced prior to the acquisition date. However, you must keep in mind that much of the time a company’s name was used many years after it’s acquisition. It must also be kept in mind that the same designs were sometimes discontinued and then reintroduced at a later date.
This can give you a clue as to when they were made. Not much information exists as to which back designs were produced in which years, however I hope to collaborate more information on this so that it can be made available.

Summer was one of the most carefree times of my life. Even though I knew the likelihood was that it would be Japanese made, it just looked too expensive to be one of the regular models, and I hardly dared ask the price. It was listed in the Fender catalogue in just three colours: Throughout the ’80s and early ’90s, I never saw a black one in the UK – either in person, during many, many shop visits, or listed in any dealer ad.
I’m sure I’m right in saying that during the ’80s, the very large Birmingham dealer – Musical Exchanges – only ever stocked these Teles new in Candy Apple Red. The Fender USA Teles had ceased to be available after the American Fullerton factory closed in , so from , Fender Japan had to fill that void whilst the new Fender Corona plant steadily set itself in motion over the next couple of years. The edgebound ’62 Custom Tele – one such premium quality guitar – was completely new in the Fender MIJ line in , and roughly took the place of the Squier JV Series ’52 reissue in the market.
Even though the ’62 Custom was a lot more expensive than, and obviously very different from the Squier ’52, the build standards and desirability were the same. During the revamp, the Squier Tele was downgraded to a cut-cost spec , and no longer had the status of the JV ’52 reissue. The ‘Custom’ element was purely cosmetic.
